It's a fun browser experience but I'm wondering how far this can be pushed to warrant a paid Steam release?

amidos2006 responds:

Thanks a lot, I am glad that you have enjoyed it :) I know it will be a small game for Steam. It will take between 1 hour to 2 hours to finish the main game and a couple of extra hours to get all the extra coins and secrets. Because of that I am gonna charge a low price of $3 which makes it around the same size as games like A Short Hike, Super Skelemania, and others.

I hope it makes sense to you and I hope that you would enjoy the full release :)

Can't progress the game. Stuck choosing a costume and pressing 1P to start does not work. I am on a pc

Thetageist responds:

I tried to upload an old version of the game, but it doesn’t work. Hold tight, fixes are on the way.

The cryptic controls don't help much but the visuals and music are still neat. How do you fight against bears (Btw, to those who are having trouble, click on the apples)?

QuaintVolod responds:

Thanks! To fight bears you should press space.

Fun, but the helicopter boss was annoying. The insta-death walls, the sensitive movement, the random feel of the helicopter's bullets were frustrating. Aside from that, this is a pretty neat demo. The controls are responsive and I'm always moving on my feet, say for after I kill the enemies to catch a breather.

TeamLumba responds:

ok yeah defo changing the helicopter boss lol

I wanna see where this story goes. The humor is good and the boss fight did a neat job in teaching me how to parry. Maybe more enemy variety and jumping could add some more meat to this fun experience, tho i guess you can't kick nuts in the air.

RaidenKramata responds:

I will do that in the next update, hope you'll stick around to play it once it comes out

Playing this prototype, there is something here but it needs a heavy amount of polish. I would say that the platforming is somewhat stiff, sometimes not registering both horizontal and vertical movement at once, and it was easy to get stuck in enemies. The shield also had a problem where I had to hold the throw button in the air instead of just tapping it like on the ground (I'm also positive that crouching doesn't bring the shield down with you, leading to vulnerability to lower enemies and also inconsistency for getting back up).
Despite that, there is potential for a mechanic. Maybe a more streamlined system with the shield throw (maybe getting rid of back blocking due to redundancy), some polish in making the platforming more satisfying and the inputs more responsive should result in something great. I also recommend perhaps experimenting with what throwing a shield can do in terms of platforming.

Sorcrino responds:

Thanks for the feedback, I'll be sure to try it out while I fix the issues with the current build.

how to avoid giant laser?

Pompasaur responds:

The laser will only ever fire on the left side of the screen, move backwards to avoid getting hit!

Controls are a bit off but its still fun all around

TheBlueHatted responds:

You can change them to whatever you want to in the options menu

Easy to get overwhelmed but fun nonetheless. The area around the police station is hard and ballsy tho considering the foxes pop outside of it without warning.

VerilyFine responds:

I should probably add a door opening animation for that.

Not too bad as a first game, but it could use work. The jump feels a bit too floaty and collision with the ground sometimes feels off.
